Project Affection through Science
Objetivo central: O Projeto Ciência d’Afetos tem por objetivo central promover, de forma inclusiva e inovadora, a integração de crianças e de jovens vítimas de tráfico de seres humanos (TSH) através da ciência e da parentalidade positiva. Pretende-se despertar o interesse das crianças em ciência e tecnologia através de atividades experimentais, potenciando a capacidade de resolução de problemas, o espírito crítico, a auto-estima e a sua inclusão educativa.
Objetivos específicos: Contribuir de forma positiva e inovadora, para a inclusão das crianças e mães vítimas de TSH e evitar a sua exposição a novas formas de violência; Sensibilizar e capacitar a comunidade e os profissionais para atuar em situações de TSH e para a proteção dos direitos das crianças e mães vítimas; Contribuir para o aumento da literacia científica e de competências técnico-científicas de crianças e jovens mães vítimas de TSH.
Com um cariz eminentemente dinâmico e inovador, o projeto permitirá o envolvimento de crianças e jovens vítimas de tráfico acolhidas em casa de abrigo em atividades de Ciência & Tecnologia, através das quais contatarão com profissionais destas áreas e terão a possibilidade de desenvolver atividades conjuntas com o Centro Ciência Viva de Tavira (CCVT). O Clube de Ciência e as atividades aí desenvolvidas serão veículo de sensibilização da comunidade escolar para as questões da violência, discriminação e tráfico de seres humanos, dotando profissionais e outras crianças e jovens de conhecimento que lhes permita identificar possíveis situações de vitimação e saber como atuar

Core objective: the core objective of Project Affection through Science is to promote, in an inclusive and innovative manner, the integration of children and youngsters victims of trafficking in human beings through science and positive parenting. It is aimed to raise children’s interest in science and technology through the development of experimental activities, empowering their problem solving skills, self-esteem and educational inclusion.
Specific objectives: contribute in an innovative and positive fashion to the social inclusion of children and their mothers victims of trafficking in human beings and thus prevent their exposure to new forms of violence; raise the awareness and build the capacity of the professionals and of the community to act/intervene in cases of trafficking in human beings e for the protection of the rights of children and their mothers; contribute to the increase of children’s and their mother’s victims of trafficking in human beings scientific literacy and technical-scientific skills.
With an innovative and dynamic character, the project will allow the involvement of sheltered children and youngsters victims of trafficking in human beings in Science and Technology activities through which they will have the possibility of contacting with professionals from these areas and to develop joint activities with the Tavira Ciência Viva Centre. It is aimed to develop a Science Club in the schools these children and youngsters attend and the promotion of activities with their families at the Tavira Ciência. The Science Club will constitute a vehicle to raise the awareness of the scholar community towards violence, discrimination and trafficking in human beings and build the professionals and other children and youngsters capacity to identify possible victimisation situations and know how to act.
