Anguoy

Anguoy is 33 years old and was born in South Sudan. He lived for a few years in Egypt and has now come to live in Portugal where he hopes to find peace.

Anguoy was born in South Sudan, a country formed after the separation from Sudan in 2005, following a war that lasted more than two decades. The war started with the attempt to impose Sharia - Islamic Law - by the northern Muslim government, in a country where there are many people of other religions, like Anguoy and his family, who are Christians. Anguoy lived with his family for nine years in Egypt, a country where he suffered racism and discrimination, but where he also made a friend. Now, Anguoy has come to live in Portugal where he hopes to find peace.
